Janus® (User Manual) is a high end DIY dual polarity power supply that delivers voltages from +/-1.25 VDC to +/- 30.0 VDC. Janus® is designed for the highest quality music reproduction with the minimum of distortion. Janus® power supply, with a fixed voltage of +/- 12.0 VDC, is incorporated in our Brig® headphone amplifier. The power supply built from this kit is also capable of driving a wide range of electronic projects which require dual polarity DC voltage. Janus® power supply uses only the finest audiophile quality components that have been carefully selected with no expense spared. Military grade Vishay/Dale metal film resistors used throughout. High quality WIMA and Nichicon capacitors are used along with LM317 and LM337 voltage regulators to stabilize and filter DC voltage. Janus® power supply employs a very generous amount of post and pre regulation smoothing capacitance provided by WIMA and Nichicon capacitors for the total amount of 12,000 microfarads.
Janus® power supply kit is designed for use with transformers that have two secondary windings and a centre tap and AC output of each winding between 24 and 26 Volt AC (for example 182H9 and 182L12).
