Trident® (User Manual) is a high end DIY three bus power supply for the highest quality music reproduction with the minimum of distortion. (Trident® power supply is sold with our Frigate® headphone amplifier). The power supply built from this kit is capable of driving a wide range of headphone amplifiers and it will give you the best advantage in listening pleasure. Trident® power supply uses only the finest audiophile quality components that have been carefully selected with no expense spared. Military grade Vishay/Dale metal film resistors used throughout. High quality Kemet, WIMA, Nichicon capacitors are used along with IRF840 MOSFET transistor to stabilize and filter anode B-plus voltage and LD1084V low drop voltage regulator to stabilize and filter filament voltage. Trident® power supply employs a very generous amount of post and pre regulation smoothing capacitance provided by Kemet and Nichicon capacitors. Trident® power supply also incorporates circuitry that provides a 15 second delay during which the B+ voltage is slowly increasing to its maximum value of about 310 Volt DC.
Trident® power supply kit is designed for use with filament transformers that have AC output between 8 and 12 Volt AC (for example 182H9 and 182L12) and B+ transformers that have AC output between 200 and 220 Volt AC (for example 182D110 and 182E110).
